The lake is located in the residential area named Gyirmót in Győr. The carp dominate its astonishing fish population, but recently, the number of pikes has also increased. There are two lakes in the area. The longer one has an L-shape and is excellently suited for organizing competitions, while the other is ideal for hobby anglers. The average depth varies between 4 and a half to 5 meters.
In September 2023, the reopened swimming pool features a twenty-five-meter, six-lane swimming pool, a teaching pool, an infrared sauna, a Finnish sauna, and a steam cabin. The accompanying facilities, including changing rooms, rental services, a buffet, and massage services, serve the health preservation of the citizens of Győr and the city’s guests. During the summer season, the 2200 m2 landscaped courtyard provides a cultured environment with sunbeds, benches, a playground, and a foot tennis court. The swimming pool is wheelchair accessible, with suitable changing rooms and bathing facilities available for those with health impairments.

One of the most beautiful parts of the city center, the peninsula at the junction of the Mosoni-Danube and the Rába river, is home to one of Győr’s most impressive facilities, the RQ Water Adventure Park and Spa.
The former beach spa was built in 1931 based on the plans of Alfréd Hajós, exploiting the features of the medicinal water of Győr, which was already known and loved in the Middle Ages. The Spa, which was renovated in 2023, is the world’s first 7 starfish water adventure park, which offers full services, 21 pools and an exclusive Japanese sauna world with 150 seats for those who want to bathe.
Located on an area of 4.5 hectares, it has one of the most spectacular children’s facilities in Hungary with 11 slides, which offers children a special experience with climbing walls made of various elements, a Spray park and animation programs.
The main curiosity of the Water Adventure Park is the 32-meter soda siphon slide tower. The top can be reached with a panoramic elevator for up to 15 people, and in the evenings it impresses visitors with light shows.
The Visitors’ Centre of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. is awaiting visitors with a factory tour that offers an inshight into the operation of the press, body and assembly shops and the processes of engine production. Follow from up close the phases of pressing processes, immerse yourself in the futuristic world of the body shop and witness how an empty chassis becomes a road-going vehicle. Prior registration is required.
Kálóczy Sports Centre is situated in a beautiful environment at the junction of the river Rába and Moson Danube, just opposite to the historic town centre of Győr. Built in the late-1920s, the boathouse is home of one of the country’s most successful rowing and wrestling clubs. A new tennis club house with a beautiful panorama terrace was handed over in April 2016 in the immediate neighborhood of the old building. The club has sic tennis courts for tennis enthusiasts, open from spring until autumn. In addition to professionals, amateur players are also welcome to book the courts and become acquainted with the sport with the help of professional coaches.
27 km far from Győr, there is a true pearl in Szigatköz called Lipót Thermalbath and Spa which is one of the most modern baths of Hungary in its appearance and technical facilities.
The calm, open air bath komplex, which sets in a wonderful natural environment, welcomes its visitors with two thermal pools, a swimming pool, children pools, an acqua park, a 1200 m2 beach pool (wave-ball, huge slides, mini water park )and a fabulous island watermill and sauna.
In 2004, the thermal water was classified as medicinal water.
A day spent at the Lipót Thermal Bath and Spa is not only a bathing experience, but also a whole day of rest, refreshment and unforgettable recreation for all ages in a huge green area, under the shade of trees, in the wonderful natural environment. The campsite’s 235 pitches are designed for tents, caravans and motorhomes, in addition, 42 fully equipped mobile homes, 6 wooden houses, 5 guest rooms and 14 sleeping cars await those arriving for several days.
The water depth is ideally designed for a beach – shaded pavilions, showers, changing rooms and parks make spending time pleasant here.
There are different opportunities for children: splashing in the lake, building sandcastle, playing in the playground or on a Wibit Aquapark.
There is a hot kitchen buffet, a Neapolitan pizzeria, and a coffee pavilion in the area.
In addition to wakeboarding, a foot tennis court, beach volleyball court, basketball court and street workout area are available to our dear guests.
Visitors to the beach can park their vehicles in a closed parking lot. However, we regret to inform you that pets such as dogs, cats, etc. cannot be brought into the beach area. Thank you for your understanding!
The Madagascar playhouse, opened in 2022 in the Xantus János Zoo, is a combination of education and entertainment. Red-bellied piranhas, bearded agamas, Asian water agamas, ball (royal) pythons, corn snakes, Cuban slender boa, doctor fishes, rats and everyone’s favourites, the guinea pigs, can be seen here. You can pet most of the animals that live here, and putting the giant snakes on your neck is an unmissable experience. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s definitely recommended.
The Hall playhouse offers the renewed birthday party of the Győr Zoo in both winter and summer, which includes a themed group tour with the birthday child and his/her team’s favourite animals, a petting zoo, bouncy castles and, of course, a birthday cake.

Lake Achilles Leisure Park and Resort-Village are situated five kilometres from the city of Győr, on the banks of the picturesque Holt-Marcal river, in the neighbourhood of a landscape protection area. The four-acre lake, which forms the park’s base, is surrounded by untouched forests and reeds. The more than two-hundred-year-old country house of Tényő, which is under monument protection, bears the characteristics of folk architecture in the Kisalföld-region. The farmhouse with its thatched roof is a popular station and photo spot along the Hungarian Blue Tour route.
Just as travelers of ancient times rested here, so today’s tourists can find peace in the eye-catching natural beauty of the Danube bank in Gönyű. They can come to us from Győr on two wheels on the EURO VELO 6 cycle path, they can come on four wheels on the main road 1, but we also welcome those coming from the direction of the water, they are greeted by a falcon and a new float.
A popular destination for tourists is the Danube Panorama Educational Trail. From Madárdal, a loud path leads down to the Danube, which opens up in front of us with an unexpected panorama. The walk is an experience for all ages. Some admire the panorama, others like to read local history curiosities, and there are sure to be those who watch a movie on their smartphone or play the tale of Gönyű to the little ones of the family. At the end of the study trail, you will also find a lookout point where you can observe the birds flying over the water and the boats on the Danube through a panoramic telescope.
The boat playground at the end of the promenade offers a range of experiences for younger and older children, and can also be a great attunement to the Boat Exhibition, which showcases the relics of local sailors and fishermen. In addition to nautical equipment, uniforms, and mock-ups, there is also an interactive bow in the exhibition space, where the bell can be sounded and wagon selfies can be made in it.
There is no shortage of “legends” in the settlement either. If you are lucky, you can walk along the study trail to see Hungary’s largest and most powerful icebreaker, the Széchenyi, and walk with us on Hungary’s longest village cobblestone road, which is almost 3 kilometers long.

In the floodplain area on the left bank of the Mosoni-Dunaube, between the Széchenyi István University in Győr and the Szúnyog-island, an area enclosed by two locks was created, forming the 4 km long backwater of the Mosoni-Danube.
The water area primarily provides entertainment for enthusiasts of sport fishing, often rewarding their perseverance with sizable catches.

Has everyone heard of GOKART? The go-kart on a closed track, under controlled conditions, gives anyone the opportunity to try out the experience of pure car racing. But what is E-Kart?
The karts equipped with an electric motor were named: E-KART. These are go-karts with a battery and self-developed electric drive that we have made for all ages. All E-Karts provide a smoke-free, safe and never-before-experienced acceleration experience for young and old alike. In addition, the sound of the hissing electric motor, the rattle chain and the squeaking wheels enhances the effect.
In our more than 50-year-old spa in Mosonmagyaróvár, there are currently seven swimming pools with different water temperatures, huge green spaces, impressive interior relaxation areas, countless sun beds and high-quality restaurants and buffets are waiting for our guests.

We offer motorboat renting for our guests, even for those who do not have a driver’s license for it. You can motorboat on the rivers of Győr and its surrounding area, on the Mosoni Danube and Danube.
If needed, we can teach you how to drive a motorboat. Guests who who enjoy extreme sports can water ski and wakeboard. And the fun begins for kids and adults alike when they get on an inflatable donut or banana behind a cool and fast motorboat!

The Aqua Sport Centre is the most modern competition swimming pool of the west-transdanubian region. The facility with a 50-meter-long pool is situated on the area of the olympic facility complex. In the interactive area are nearly 70 devices exhibited which can be experimentalized, like the wind-channel, the labyrinth of mirrors or the aerodynamic car-body. Among the most popular attractions are the demonstrations of spectacular experiments that take place in the auditorium-like space of the building.
MobilITy – Digital Experience Centre
„Encode, construct, discover!“ – The MobilITy Digital Experience Centre is a creative space where in the weekdays scholar groups, on Saturdays individual visitors and families (pre-registration is needed) can create, learn playfully, discover and experiment the latest infocommunicative and digital devices.
More than 900 specimens of almost 150 species of animals await the guests of the Xantus János Zoo for an all-day excursion. Visitors are guided from Asia through Africa to America, where each animal lives its life in an environment suitable for its own habitat. One of the big tasks of the zoo is to educate the visitor in an entertaining way. And the biggest supporters of learning through play at the Győr Zoo are the residents themselves.

Guided tours for groups
The guided tours for groups are primarily recommended for primary school children. During the 1.5-2 hour tour children can get to know the habits, nature and behaviour of the animals. Prior registration is required for participation!
Spectacular animal feedings
From April to September, the zoo’s animators/employees/workers await visitors to accompany them through an all-day show feeding program. There will be no shortage of interesting information and behind-the-scenes stories. The times of the show feedings can be seen on the sign at the entrance.

These programs allow you to get to know some of the zoo’s residents close up. The zoo’s workers and selected residents await visitors with fantastic productions every day. From spring to autumn, you have to look for the Arena next to the chimpanzee enclosure, and from autumn to spring, the show can be seen in the Hall.
Guinea pig train
The Guinea Pig Train is one of the most popular programs at the Győr Zoo. In the winter season, the guinea pig train “rumbles” in the Hall at 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and in the summer season, next to the Hall, in the South America section at 10:20 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The guinea pigs walk in single file in the raised passage created for them to get their breakfast and dinner.
