  • Orbán Gy.: Woodwind Quintet — 12'

  • J. Ibert: 3 pièces brèves — 8'

The second concert of the Flesch Series will be dedicated to French and Hungarian woodwind chamber music, performed by the musicians of the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra.

Francaix’s first Wind Quintet brings the bohemian atmosphere of Paris to life with its lively melodies, while Szervánszky Endre’s works, influenced by Hungarian folk music, are rarely heard on concert stages today. His Woodwind Quintet, rich in diverse characters, will surely be a musical discovery.

The renowned contemporary Hungarian composer Orbán György composed his Woodwind Quintet in 1985 with grotesque humor and great craftsmanship, offering entertaining yet artistically sophisticated music.

The concert will conclude with Ibert's witty miniatures, providing an insight into the history of 20th-century woodwind music. The artistic director of the event is Kálmán Berkes.
