Dance theatre production in one act

The Firebird is a ballet of historical significance. It was first performed in 1910, choreographed by Mikhail Fokin and presented by the world-renowned Russian Ballet Company founded and led by Sergei Diaghilev. Since then, Igor Stravinsky’s elemental, dynamic, and magical musical world has inspired numerous choreographers.

The Firebird is Stravinsky’s first composition for ballet.

The dance theatre piece I created is based on the eternal struggle between good and evil. The character of the Firebird appears as a metaphor for intuition and the immortal soul in the ballet.

I intended to create not just a ballet, but a dance theatre work that takes shape as a kind of vision. Moreover, I placed great emphasis on expressing the musicality inherent in the music through dance — essentially making the music visible.
