Vázsonyi János Trio

Vázsonyi János Trio

Start — July 2, 2025 at 7:00 PM
End — July 2, 2025 at 8:30 PM

A Musical Time Travel with Saxophone

Spanning two and a half millennia, the Vázsonyi Trio’s evening takes you on a journey from fragments of ancient Greek songs, through baroque melodies, all the way to jazz. The musical montages—where a single beat can leap over two thousand years in an instant—feature original improvisations, adding an unexpected twist to an already fascinating program. Among the pieces performed is a saxophone arrangement of the slow movement from Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, along with many other marvelous rare gems from music history.

You’ll also discover why Bach is considered one of the greatest blues composers.
(By the way, János Vázsonyi is known as the world’s second quietest saxophonist—the first has yet to be heard by anyone.)

Performers:
János Nagy – keyboard
Flóra Joubert – drums
János Vázsonyi – saxophone
