Wine History Days

The dedicated mission of the Győr Wine Days is to provide a detailed presentation of Hungary's outstanding wine culture, ensure education, and offer quality entertainment for responsible alcohol consumers. During the event, more than 50 winemakers will have the opportunity to showcase their wines and compete for the title of "Wine of the Festival."

This year, at the request of visitors, we have expanded the range of awarded wines in the competition, and wineries can now compete for the prestigious "Wine of the Festival" title in 9 categories. This not only provides more opportunities for winemakers but also offers better guidance for visitors, as the categories go beyond popular color distinctions to include sugar content and winemaking technology.

As in previous years, visitors can sip excellent wines from festival glasses. However, considering environmental and consumer-friendly aspects, we are also introducing a glass rental system for this year's event. These glasses are distinguished by a small green logo from the ones that can be taken home. The exhibiting wineries and programs are located in two venues. In Széchenyi Square, DJs will provide pleasant background music to accompany good wines and friendly conversations, but we have also prepared programs for those seeking more intense entertainment.
