On This Side and Beyond the Tale

Bold Mara, a famed detective of the past, arrives on an east wind—sent by Mary Poppins—to meet Bravo Barbi, a detective of the future, in 2025. Barbi reveals that in the future an intergalactic storm has scrambled all gadgets and the tales have vanished. Mara and the children gather their favorite stories together: animal tales, folktales, and Disney stories. Along the way they learn magical nursery rhymes—sleep-summoners and witch-banishers. In the end, the wind rises, the spaceship is fixed, and everyone returns to their own time. Bravo Barbi carries the songs of the tales with her—from Mary Poppins, through Vuk and Frozen, all the way to Dr. Bubó.
