Fegya & Budapest Klezmer Band

Fegya & Budapest Klezmer Band

Start — May 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM
End — May 7, 2026 at 8:30 PM

“Klezmer is a kind of mirror of the connection between peoples,” says Ferenc Jávori (“Fegya”), who founded his band in 1990 with the intention of reviving one of the greatest treasures of Jewish culture in Hungary: klezmer music.

The members of his ensemble are true masters of their instruments. The rich and diverse musical world they represent — a distinctive Carpathian Basin-style klezmer — has enjoyed great success both in Hungary and on international stages ever since. Traditional Yiddish motifs, as interpreted by the band, are complemented with elements borrowed from Roma music and folk traditions, creating a unique sound while tirelessly spreading the klezmer heritage around the world in line with the founder’s vision.
