Mihály Berecz, pianist and fortepiano artist, is already an active figure in the Hungarian concert scene despite his young age. He is the winner and prize recipient of numerous national and international competitions. In 2017, he won first prize at the Debut Berlin and the II Manhattan Music Competition. In 2018, he received the Harriet Cohen Bach Prize at the Royal Academy of Music. He completed his studies in London at the Royal Academy of Music in piano performance with outstanding results.

 

In 2021, he was awarded the Liszt–Bartók Special Prize at the Géza Anda Competition and received the Junior Prima Prize the same year. Since January 2022, he has been a faculty member of the chamber music department at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. In February 2022, he became a scholarship recipient of the Cziffra Foundation. In 2023, he won first prize at the Kissingen Piano Olympics.

  • Joseph Haydn: Sonata in E-flat major, Hob. XVI/38
  • Béla Bartók: 3 pieces from Mikrokosmos (Tune, Bagpipe Music, Ostinato)
  • Béla Bartók: Out of Doors
  • Franz Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12
  • Robert Schumann: Kreisleriana, Op. 16

 

Duration: approx. 100 minutes with one intermission.

The program was organized by the Altalena international art collective and educational platform.

 

Ticket sales start on March 20 at 17:00 online via the TIXA.

Tickets will also be available at the venue before the program, subject to capacity.

The program is part of the Five Churches Festival, organized by the Karzat Theatre Nonprofit Ltd.
