Rita Halász: Deep Breath

Rita Halász: Deep Breath

Start — May 11, 2026 at 6:00 PM
End — May 11, 2026 at 7:30 PM

Perhaps there comes a moment in everyone’s life when they would most like to move back into their childhood room and rethink the most important decisions of their life. The protagonist of the performance, Vera — a young mother and visual artist — searches for answers as to why things happened the way they did to her. The piece tells the story of a divorce, but it is much more than that. It touches on silence and confrontation, memories, lightness, snowfall and heatwaves — but above all, it is about finding one’s way back to oneself.

Rita Halász won the Margó Prize in 2021 for her novel Deep Breath and was also shortlisted for the Libri Literary Prize top 10.

Hanna Pálos, a member of the Katona József Theatre, appears in this production after major roles on the main stage, now in a much more intimate and personal performance.

The production was created in collaboration between the Orlai Production Office and FÜGE.
