— Historical buildings
In 1913, the Jewish Community of Győr established a foundation for the construction of a building that provides shelter for needy Jewish children and the elderly.
The community house, built on the basis of the designs of Károly Mocsányi and Dezső Stadler, lost its original function after the war and became the property of the city. In 2011, the religious community bought it back from the city in order to put it back into the service of the community, according to the original intention of the builders.
In the summer of 2014, the Jewish Religious and Local History Collection and the Holocaust Memorial Exhibition were opened on the ground floor of the building. In the 100-120 m² museum, you can see an exhibition showing the history of Győr Jewry, the ceremonies and customs of the Jewish religion, and the life of rural Jews in general.
In the right wing of the building, during the renovation, a chamber theater was created with the capacity of 80 seats. The upper part of the building currently houses a kindergarten.
